TITLES

Opening Title

This is an important convention for thrillers because the way the titles come in may reflect the way the characters are, for example Dexter's title reflects how the character is. This is because they are blood like and there is blood squirted. From the title the audience can see that the protagonist may be deceiving and hiding something.

When watching a thriller film the audience wants to feel engaged and interested because this is what makes a film successful - if they can get the audience watching.
For any film title its important that you have the peoples name that are starring in the film, but some film titles may have special effects like to symbolise the character. A good opening that may show this is Se7en, this is because the letters look deranged and this may signify the main protagonist. From watching the opening scene to Se7en we get the impression that the main character is up to something because the music and the way the titles come in reflect the personality of the character.

As you can see from the picture Se7en looks quite deranged and how the letters are written look quite disturbing. The audience may feel uncomfortable because of the way the titles are made. There are also words that may represent and symbolise what the film may be about or even this could be describing the protagonist in an evil and sinister way.
